– 50 Lb bags for what 44 Lb bags normally cost
Right off the hop, these bags will yield you 12% more feed for your Animals.
– Punch Card style program for Bonus Points
Think of this as a stamp card just like the sub shops used to do. Our system for tracking your purchases also inherently creates a tracking system for Quality Control and Quality Assurance purposes. We want to implement this and are working at it.
– CFIA Approved Blends (2 years in the making)
This was a long and arduous task for Goat Mountain Custom Milling to accomplish. Custom blends which have been scutinized, barnyard proven, lab tested & CFIA Approved ensure a quality product from cradle to grave.
– Low Dust Measures Implemented for Good Health
For your health as well as the animals you will be feeding. Feed delivery to animals is a daily chore which needs to be performed safely and should not be detrimental to you or your Animals. Low dust is key for a healthy respiratory system. Goat Mountain Custom Milling working in conjunction with outside parties are developing a proprietary system for blending a low dust finished product. The addition of Molasses and Canola also aids in making certain blends more palatable to the animals.
– Local Grains from the Creston Valley
The majority of all ingredients come from Local sources and are highly scrutinized. Because this is a smaller operation, we can be a bit choosy when procuring products for blends. Our scrutiny ensures consistent products.
– Fresh Milling in Small Batches
Small batch Milling ensures minimal loss of nutrients. Loss of nutrients starts occurring shortly after milling. Product which sits in storage loses a considerable amount of nutrients value.
– Supporting Numerous Local Families
The vast majority of items used are right from the Creston Valley. Purchasing these products are helping to sustain numerous families in our community. We like to think that this is much more attractive than having the money go outside our community. Often times, that money may go to pay for automated equipment & corporate operations.
– Lab Tested with Documented Results
Lab Testing from a third party provider ensures that all tests comply with Standards
– Ethical Practices at all Stages
This whole endeavor is a long term project which has been planned and calculated to deliver High Quality products at the best possible prices. We (Red Barn Farm & Goat Mountain Custom Milling) are striving for long term success, not just to make a short term splash.
– Minimal Handling & Transport of all Products
One of the potential problems with moving items over long distances is keeping proper custody of products. A good product from a reputable operation can become tainted in transit or storage location. If a product is shipped alongside items such as chemicals, fertilizers or any other non food grade substance there is possibility for contamination. Our Grains go from the Farm to the Milling location and then put into secure, dry storage either on site or at the Red Barn Farm. The Red Barn Farm has a dedicated storage area for feeds which is isolated from any possible contaminants.
– Local Supply Chain which minimizes outside influences
As previously stated, we are striving to maintain relationships with local farms to procure the best quality Grains available. This Local Supply Chain and corresponding Good Relationships will allow for a Reliable and Sustainable future for our business model.
